Pertamina Addresses Increase in Prices of 5.5 kg and 12 kg LPG
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Pertamina (Persero) has addressed the increase in prices of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 5.5 kilogram (kg) and 12 kg sizes. Both commodities have seen a significant rise effective from 18 April 2026.
Pertamina’s Vice President, Muhammad Baron, explained that the price adjustment for non-subsidised LPG (Bright Gas) 12 kg and 5.5 kg from 18 April 2026 takes into account developments in global energy prices and the rupiah exchange rate, as well as to maintain energy supply sustainability.
“For several years, Pertamina has kept prices stable amid rising trends in the international market, so this adjustment is a measured step considering the prevailing conditions,” Baron told CNBC Indonesia on Monday (20/4/2026).
Pertamina, according to Baron, ensures that 3 kg subsidised LPG is distributed on target and urges the public who can afford it to use non-subsidised LPG. “So that subsidy allocation can be more effective and enjoyed by those who deserve it,” he stressed.
For example, according to Pertamina Patra Niaga’s official website, the applicable price in Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara for 5.5 kg LPG has risen by Rp 17,000 to Rp 107,000 per cylinder. Meanwhile, the 12 kg package in areas from Banten to Bali is now priced at Rp 228,000, an increase of Rp 36,000 from the previous price.
