Pertamina Addresses Diesel Queues at Tanjung Selor Fuel Stations in North Kalimantan
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has responded to a viral video showing long queues of trucks at several petrol stations in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. The company stressed that the queues were not caused by scarcity or a stock outage of Bio Solar. Corporate Secretary Roberth M.V. Dumatubun explained that monitoring results indicated the queues occurred mainly at the start of operational hours due to high demand for Bio Solar, especially from freight transport vehicles. He noted that the queue was dominated by trucks with East Kalimantan licence plates, which chose to refuel in the Bulungan area after previously facing difficulties obtaining Bio Solar in their home region. Roberth confirmed that the distribution of Bio Solar at the petrol stations is proceeding normally, with no distribution halts or stock shortages. At one monitored station, Bio Solar stocks were recorded at 28 kilolitres, with an additional supply of 16 kilolitres scheduled to arrive. He concluded that the queues were not caused by distribution delays or stock emptiness, but rather by high demand during early operating hours and increased consumption by out-of-region vehicles. Pertamina, together with the local government and relevant agencies, continues to monitor and coordinate to maintain availability and ensure the targeted distribution of subsidised fuel. The North Kalimantan Provincial Government will also issue a circular regulating the use of non-subsidised fuel for out-of-region vehicles in accordance with the provisions.
