Pertamina Patra Niaga is accelerating the distribution of subsidised fuel on Madura Island, East Java, to address queues of motor vehicles at various public filling stations in the region. Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR for the East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, Ahad Rehadi, said that in addition to speeding up distribution, the company has also begun mitigation efforts to ensure the community’s energy needs are met in accordance with quotas and designated service points. “We have also coordinated with the relevant government authorities to resolve this issue,” he said in a statement conveyed to the media in Pamekasan, East Java, on Saturday evening. According to Ahad, Pertamina has prioritised deliveries from the supply point Fuel Terminal and also diverted supplies from the nearest Fuel Terminal within the distribution area. This step, he added, is an effort to accelerate distribution. Pertamina has also carried out additional mitigation, so that the fuel dispatched is increased to speed up the fulfilment of the community’s energy needs. “In addition, we are maximising tanker trucks with a delivery priority scale. Through these efforts, it is hoped that the queues can be quickly dispersed and distribution conditions return to normal,” he said. He also confirmed that the supply of subsidised fuel across all regencies and cities in East Java, including Madura Island, is secure and sufficient to meet the needs of the local community. The distribution of subsidised fuel is ensured to be in line with its intended purpose as stipulated by the government, as well as the established quotas and designated service points. “To date, Pertamina continues to conduct regular monitoring of supply and distribution in the field and consistently prioritises safety aspects in every operational activity to provide the best service to the community,” he explained. Based on observations on Saturday, queues of motor vehicles at a number of filling stations in Pamekasan, Sampang, Bangkalan and Sumenep Regencies were still ongoing for subsidised fuels, specifically Pertalite and diesel.
