Pertamina Accelerates Normalisation of Fuel Distribution in Flores, Ferries Dozens of Tanker Trucks from Bima
Pertamina Patra Niaga is continuing to accelerate the normalisation of energy distribution to a number of petrol station (SPBU) operators following the Flores earthquake. Efforts are being made through supply diversion, the addition of tanker trucks from Bima in West Nusa Tenggara, and the acceleration of operational recovery at petrol stations.
As part of strengthening supplies, 11 fuel tanker trucks with a capacity of 16 kilolitres each and an avtur tanker truck with a capacity of 16 kilolitres were dispatched from Bima and arrived safely in Labuan Bajo on 17 August 2026 in the morning.
Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, the tanker truck crews immediately moved towards their respective destination petrol stations to accelerate fuel distribution to the public.
As part of the accelerated recovery process, 47 of the 52 petrol stations have now resumed operations. Meanwhile, five petrol stations remain non-operational. These stations will continue to be monitored and evaluated until they are ready to operate.
VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that the company is continuing to coordinate and monitor conditions on the ground to ensure that the four petrol stations still not operating can be restored promptly, while paying attention to safety aspects and operational readiness.
“Our focus is to ensure that the public’s energy supply is maintained and that the normalisation process can proceed as quickly as possible. We divert supplies from areas where possible, and once they arrive, we immediately distribute them to the destination petrol stations,” said Kitty.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has urged the public to remain calm and to use fuel and LPG wisely according to their needs.
