PT Pertamina (Persero) recorded an increase in sales of Pertamax fuel during the 2026 Eid exodus period. The surge occurred alongside rising public mobility during the homecoming flow. On 20 March 2026, or H-1 before Eid, Pertamax (RON 92) consumption rose 11.8% compared to the normal daily average. Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that this increase reflects the high demand for fuel for long-distance journeys. “Long-distance travels with dynamic traffic conditions lead the public to choose higher-quality fuel,” said Baron, quoted from a written statement on Thursday, 26 March 2026. He assessed that this rise indicates more people are switching to quality fuel. According to him, Pertamax is chosen because it maintains optimal vehicle performance during the homecoming journey. Additionally, Baron said Pertamax Green (RON 95) also experienced a sales surge of up to 94.7% compared to the normal period. Meanwhile, Pertamax Turbo saw a consumption increase of 34.5%. According to him, this trend shows growing public interest in more environmentally friendly and high-performance fuels. To anticipate the surge in energy needs, Pertamina has increased stocks well in advance. Several additional services have also been prepared along the homecoming routes and tourist spots, such as 24-hour alert petrol stations, fuel and LPG delivery services, and energy service points at strategic routes. Baron assured that energy supplies remain secure during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. He hopes that public journeys, including the return flow, can proceed smoothly. On the other hand, he urged the public to use fuel wisely. This appeal was made in line with global dynamics, including the Middle East conflict that affects the world’s energy situation. “In line with the Middle East conflict impacting the global energy situation, Pertamina urges the public to jointly maintain the fuel and LPG supplies already provided by Pertamina,” said Baron.
