Pertamax Prices Drop Starting 1 August 2026, Pertamina Explains Reasons

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has confirmed that the price adjustment for non-subsidised fuels, effective from 1 August 2026, follows the average trend of global oil prices and the movement of the Rupiah exchange rate. This policy also adheres to government regulations and directives while continuing to consider public purchasing power.

Kitty Andhora, VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that periodic price adjustments are part of the existing mechanism to maintain price balance and ensure the availability of the national fuel supply. “The adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices is carried out in accordance with government provisions and directives, considering developments in global oil prices, the Rupiah exchange rate, and maintaining public purchasing power. This step is also part of the effort to ensure that the national fuel supply remains guaranteed for the public,” Kitty said in a written statement on Friday (1/8/2026).

In the latest adjustment, the price of Pertamax (RON 92) decreased from Rp16,250 per litre to Rp15,950 per litre. Pertamax Green 95 also dropped from Rp17,000 to Rp16,600 per litre, while Pertamax Turbo decreased from Rp19,300 to Rp18,300 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of Pertamina Dex remains at Rp21,150 per litre and Dexlite holds steady at Rp19,700 per litre. These prices apply to regions with a Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax (PBBKB) of 5 per cent, such as DKI Jakarta.
