Pertamax Price Suddenly Rises, Pertamina Provides Clarification

The price of non-subsidised fuel, namely Pertamax and Pertamax Green, suddenly increased as of 10 June 2026. Typically, price adjustments occur at the start of the month. The price of Pertamax has now reached Rp 16,250 per litre, a jump of nearly Rp 4,000 compared to the previous price of Rp 12,300 per litre. Meanwhile, Pertamax Green is now being sold at Rp 17,000 per litre, up from just Rp 12,900 per litre previously. Pertamina Patra Niaga explained the reason behind the sudden price adjustment. According to the company, the decision was taken after an evaluation process in accordance with the pricing formula set by the government. ‘The price adjustment for Pertamax and Pertamax Green was carried out after going through an evaluation process according to the pricing formula set by the government,’ said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Roberth also stated that the adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices was decided after coordinating with the government as the regulator and was carried out by considering world oil prices. ‘The selling price was decided while still being coordinated with the government as the regulator, and is part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of energy supply and the optimal distribution of quality fuel to the public,’ said Roberth. Apart from Pertamax and Pertamax Green, there were no changes to other Pertamina fuel prices. Pertamax Turbo remains offered at Rp 20,750 per litre, Pertalite at Rp 10,000 per litre, Dexlite at Rp 23,000 per litre, and Pertamina Dex at Rp 24,800 per litre.
