Jakarta – Non-subsidised fuel prices have undergone adjustment once more. Entering March 2026, Pertamax prices at Pertamina petrol stations have officially increased by Rp 550 per litre, rising from the previous Rp 11,800 to Rp 12,350 per litre.

This increase directly impacts the operational costs of daily vehicles, particularly the Low MPV segment which is popular in Indonesia such as Toyota Avanza and Mitsubishi Xpander. Both models are renowned for their fuel efficiency and serve as reliable options for families and business operators.

The Toyota Avanza, which has a tank capacity of 43 litres, now requires Rp 531,050 for a single full refill with the latest Pertamax price. This calculation assumes refuelling from an empty tank.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Xpander with a tank capacity of 45 litres now requires approximately Rp 555,750 for a full refill. At the previous price of Rp 11,800 per litre, the cost would have been around Rp 531,000. There is a difference of Rp 24,750 in a single refill.

On the surface, an increase of around Rp 20,000 per refill may appear small. However, for users who refuel one to two times per week, the accumulation can be quite noticeable in monthly expenditure.

In response, some vehicle owners have begun considering alternatives such as Pertalite, which currently remains in the region of Rp 10,000 per litre.

Although more economical, the choice of fuel must still be adjusted to the engine specifications and manufacturer recommendations to ensure the vehicle’s performance and longevity remain preserved.
