Pertamax Price Hike Will Have Minimal Impact on Inflation, Says Purbaya

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is confident that the price increase for Pertamina’s RON 92 fuel, Pertamax, will have only a minor effect on inflation. This confidence is based on the fact that Pertamax is consumed predominantly by the public and not by freight transport or public transport. ‘The impact should be relatively minimal because Pertamax is not used by freight transport,’ said Purbaya when met at the DPR RI Building on Wednesday (10/6/2026). ‘It should be limited because it is not for public transport; freight transport does not use it,’ he continued. In DKI Jakarta and its surrounding areas, the price of Pertamax (RON 92) from 10 June 2026 is set at Rp 16,250 per litre, an increase of Rp 3,950 per litre from the previous Rp 12,300 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of Pertamax fuel at Pertashops is now set at Rp 16,150 per litre.
