JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Pertamina has announced another adjustment to non-subsidised fuel prices effective March 2026. Pertamax, with an octane rating of RON 92, has increased from IDR 11,800 to IDR 12,350 per litre.

This price increase will impact Pertamax users, as the cost of refuelling with 92 RON fuel has risen by IDR 550 per litre.

To assess the direct impact of the fuel price change on daily fuel consumption for vehicles, Kompas.com has conducted simulations.

For this analysis, Low Sport Utility Vehicle (LSUV) models using Pertamax fuel were examined. Twin vehicles – the Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Terios, along with the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and Suzuki XL7 – all possess a fuel tank capacity of 45 litres. Whereas a full tank previously cost IDR 531,000, it now costs IDR 555,750.

Owners of the Hyundai Stargazer will face smaller costs, given its 40-litre tank capacity. Using the same calculation method, a full tank now requires IDR 494,000, compared to the previous IDR 472,000 for a complete Pertamax refill.

Whilst the IDR 550 per-litre increase may appear modest, its impact on a single full tank can be significant, especially for those who use their vehicles regularly for daily commuting.

45-litre tank capacity vehicles saw an increase of IDR 24,750 per full tank.

40-litre tank capacity vehicles saw an increase of IDR 22,000 per full tank.
