Pertagas Receives Seven Awards at the 2026 CSR and Sustainable Village Development Awards
PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) has achieved seven simultaneous awards at the 2026 CSR and Sustainable Village Development Awards, affirming the impact of the community empowerment programmes implemented by Pertagas across its various operational regions. The awards were presented at an event held at the Main Building of the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regional Development on Monday (28/9).
The President Director of PT Pertamina Gas, Indra Pehulisa, received an award in the ‘Outstanding’ category for his leadership strategy and commitment to driving the implementation of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) within the company. The award was presented directly by the Deputy Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regional Development, Ahmad Riza Patria.
Six other awards were achieved by Pertagas programmes through its operational areas: the Gold category was awarded to the East Java Area Operation (OEJA); the Silver category was awarded to the Kalimantan Area Operation (OKA), North Sumatra Area Operation (ONSA), South Sumatra Area Operation (OSSA), and West Java Area Operation (OWJA); while the Bronze category was awarded to the Central Sumatra Area Operation (OCSA).
Ahmad Riza Patria stated that the 2026 CSR and Sustainable Village Development Awards serve as a form of appreciation for companies that make tangible contributions to village development through social responsibility programmes. He noted that this annual agenda, organised by the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regional Development alongside the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF), aims to build partnerships between various stakeholders and the government to improve community welfare.
Corporate Secretary of Pertagas, Sulthani Adil Mangatur, stated that as an integrated energy infrastructure company, Pertagas is committed to implementing village-based Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programmes throughout the company’s operational areas. He added that Pertagas’s CSR programmes are designed to support community and village economic development so that they grow in tandem with the company’s business growth.
One of the recognised programmes is the Belawan Pond Tilapia Cultivation Programme managed by Pertamina Gas ONSA. This programme promotes fisheries-based economic development while providing added value to the community members involved in the Belawang Tilapia Cultivation Group.
In the Sumatra region, Pertagas, through Pertamina Gas OCSA, implements the ‘ScaleUp Nanas’ programme, which focuses on fruit processing innovation and leaf fibre crafts to empower village MSMEs. Conducted in Lubuk Karet Village, this programme optimises pineapple potential through a circular economy approach by utilising all parts of the plant. Pineapples are processed into value-added products such as syrup, jam, and chips, while pineapple leaves, which were previously discarded, are utilised as natural fibres for handicraft products.
Another local potential-based empowerment programme is ‘PINA LESTARI’ (Pineapple for Economic Acceleration and Natural Sustainability) by Pertamina Gas OSSA. This programme has successfully increased the value of pineapple leaf waste through product innovation while providing skills training to the community.
Meanwhile, Pertamina Gas OWJA has developed the ‘Megamendung’ Programme (Supporting the Movement for Superior Village Economies). This initiative addresses climate change challenges related to energy, environment, and urbanisation issues that impact the sustainability of community livelihoods.
In Kalimantan, Pertamina Gas OKA runs the ‘Karyadarsa’ Programme (Village Prosperity Acceleration Work). This programme serves as an economic driver and supports the fulfilment of needs in Karya Jaya Village to accelerate village development towards more prosperous conditions.
Through these various programmes, Pertagas continues to encourage the development of local potential to provide sustainable economic and social benefits to communities surrounding the company’s operational areas. Sulthani concluded by stating, “Pertagas is committed to supporting the welfare of village communities in line with the Government’s Asta Cita to build from the villages and peripheries.”
