Pertagas Maintains Gas Infrastructure Reliability During 81st Independence Day
Maintaining reliable energy supply is a tangible contribution to supporting public activities and the national economy. For workers in the energy sector, this duty continues across various operational areas, including when the public is commemorating independence.
This spirit is part of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) activities in maintaining the reliability of gas transportation and distribution infrastructure in several regions of Indonesia. The company ensures operations continue through workers stationed in Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan.
President Director of PT Pertamina Gas, Indra P. Sembiring, said the continuity of energy distribution is part of the company’s contribution to public needs and the economy. “For us, the spirit of independence is not only about commemorating history, but also about ensuring energy continues to flow to support public activities and the economy. Pertagas workers in Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan continue to carry out their duties maintaining gas infrastructure reliability as part of their contribution to the nation,” said Indra in Jakarta (26/8).
According to Indra, infrastructure reliability is an important factor in maintaining national energy security. Well-maintained infrastructure enables gas transportation and distribution to take place continuously to meet the needs of various sectors.
This is in line with the spirit of “Energi Merah Putih Indonesia Makmur” which is part of Pertamina Group’s efforts to strengthen national energy independence and security. “Energy is an important strength for Indonesia’s progress. Therefore, maintaining infrastructure reliability and ensuring energy distribution runs well is a tangible form of nationalism carried out by Pertagas workers every day,” he said.
This commitment was also demonstrated through board of directors visits to several operational areas to monitor the readiness and reliability of gas distribution infrastructure. These activities were carried out in conjunction with the 81st Independence Day commemoration held simultaneously in six Pertagas operational areas: Balikpapan, Cikarang, Surabaya, Pangkalan Brandan, Rokan, and Palembang.
Ceremonies in each region were attended by Pertagas workers and led by board members as ceremony inspectors. Pertagas officers carried out the raising of the Red and White flag, while workers wore traditional regional attire as a representation of Indonesia’s cultural diversity.
Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Gas, Sulthani Adil Mangatur, said the independence moment is an opportunity for all workers to strengthen their commitment to contribute through their daily work. “The 81st Independence Day commemoration is a momentum for all Pertagas personnel to reaffirm their commitment to providing the best contribution for Indonesia. We realise this spirit through concrete work, maintaining operational reliability, and ensuring energy infrastructure can continue to support the public and economic growth,” said Sulthani.
As part of Pertamina’s Gas Subholding, Pertagas plays a role in supporting national energy needs through gas transportation and distribution activities. This role makes infrastructure reliability an important aspect that must be maintained sustainably.
Sulthani added that this spirit aligns with the theme of the 81st Independence Day, “Indonesia Berdaulat Adil dan Makmur”. According to him, the theme serves as a reminder for workers to continue taking part in building an independent, competitive, and prosperous Indonesia. “The spirit of independence must continue to live in every job and contribution we make. Pertagas will continue to carry out its role in supporting energy security while providing added value for the nation,” concluded Sulthani.
