Personnel Sweep Nightlife Operations in Cakung During Ramadan
Cakung Sub-district Head Rohmad said authorities would sweep nightlife operations that have drawn public attention as part of their commitment to ensuring safety and comfort for the community.
“We will sweep nightlife operations that have become a concern as a form of our commitment to providing a sense of safety and comfort to the public,” Rohmad said in Jakarta on Monday.
The measure, he said, was taken to ensure all business operators comply with established regulations in order to maintain order during Ramadan.
“In addition to enforcement, officers are also conducting outreach to business operators to keep conditions conducive during Ramadan,” Rohmad said.
A total of 241 joint personnel were deployed in the operation. The elements involved comprised the Indonesian Military and Police, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Fire Service, the Transportation Agency, the Social Affairs Agency, and Public Facilities and Infrastructure Management (PPSU) officers.
Several community elements were also involved, including the Community Early Awareness Forum (FKDM), the Police-Community Partnership Forum (FKPM), the Betawi Youth Communication Forum (FORKABI), and other partners.
“Joint officers continue to increase patrols for the comfort of all,” Rohmad said.
The enforcement, he continued, was carried out to follow up on DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 18 of 2018 concerning the operation of tourism businesses.
Under the circular, operating hours for a number of nightlife venues have been tightened. Among them, nightclubs are permitted to operate from 20:30 to 01:30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
Discotheques may operate from 20:30 to 01:30 WIB, steam baths from 11:00 to 23:00 WIB, and massage parlours from 11:00 to 23:00 WIB.
Manual, mechanical, or electronic amusement arcades for adults may operate from 11:00 to 24:00 WIB, while bars or drinking establishments may operate from 11:00 to 01:00 WIB.
Executive karaoke businesses may operate from 20:30 to 01:30 WIB, while family karaoke businesses may operate from 14:00 to 02:00 WIB.
Billiard halls located within the same premises as executive karaoke businesses may operate from 20:30 to 01:30 WIB, while standalone billiard halls may operate from 10:00 to 24:00 WIB.
