"Personal Intelligence" Feature Comes to Gemini App in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Google has officially brought the “Personal Intelligence” feature to the Gemini app in Indonesia, making it easier for users to obtain assistance from the artificial intelligence to complete daily tasks.
This feature was previously launched in the US at the beginning of 2026 and is now available in Indonesia.
“Personal Intelligence helps Gemini become highly useful and personalised by securely connecting information from various applications, including Gmail and Google Photos,” stated an official Google statement received on Monday.
The feature emphasises privacy as its primary principle, so Google provides options to enable and disable Personal Intelligence in the Gemini app.
Google promises that its AI model will only be trained using limited information, such as specific prompts and their responses. Gemini is assured not to train its model directly with data from the Gmail inbox or Google Photos gallery.
With a single tap, this feature connects various services like Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search, which have been designed by Google to remain secure yet easy to use.
Google provides an illustration, for example, a user planning a holiday trip.
With an easy prompt, users can ask Gemini to find check-in documents regarding their accommodation without needing to rummage through the Gmail app.
“Once activated, Gemini accesses your data to answer specific requests and perform various tasks for you. Because this data is already securely stored at Google, you don’t need to send sensitive data elsewhere to start personalising your experience. This is our main advantage,” stated Google regarding how data is used in Personal Intelligence.
Google promises that users won’t need to guess where Gemini’s answers come from when Personal Intelligence is running.
In the future, Gemini will provide references or explain the sources it uses, so users can verify them.
If interested in accessing Personal Intelligence in Gemini but haven’t received an invitation to try it, users can open the Gemini app and select “Settings”, then select “Personal Intelligence”, and choose “Connected Apps” to select connected applications like Gmail, Google Photos, and others.
This feature will be launched gradually; the initial phase will target personal Google accounts that have subscribed to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra and meet the requirements.
In the future, the feature will be available to other active users. Once activated, this feature can be used on the web, Android, and iOS, and works with all models available in the Gemini model picker.
