Persik Aims to Avoid Complacency Against Persija in Final Home Game
Kediri (ANTARA) - Persik Kediri does not want to underestimate their opponents, Persija Jakarta, in their final home game of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 at the Brawijaya Stadium in Kediri City on Saturday (16/5).
Persik Kediri coach, Marcos Reina Torres, stated that in this match, Persik will undoubtedly field their best squad. Persija is a strong team, so Persik must be able to face them.
“We will play very seriously tomorrow. They are a strong team; they just came back from a defeat against Persib. We are ready to fight for and target three points,” he said in Kediri, Friday.
He added that the players have also trained well in the past week leading up to the match. All players have worked hard, so it is hoped that they can achieve optimal results later.
“The preparation has been good in the past week. All players have worked hard in training,” he said.
Even though this match is the last at their home ground, Marcos emphasized that the team must show good performance during the match.
“We know we want to win, and everyone is in the best condition, and we are ready to face Persija tomorrow,” he said.
Meanwhile, Persik Kediri player Krisna Bayu Oto said that the players are in good condition. All players have also made preparations, and everyone is ready to compete.
“We, the players, have prepared well, and all players are ready for the match against Persija, and this match is very good for motivating us to get three points and, of course, provide very entertaining play,” he said.
Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta coach Maurício Souza said that in this match, his team will field their full strength to face Persik.
He also does not want to underestimate Persik. Besides being coached by a good coach, the team’s player structure is also good.
“We have prepared, and we are here to get three points. We also respect Persik, a team that is well-coached, and the structure is also good. They also have good players, so we will field our full strength against them,” he said.
Currently, Persik is in 12th place in the temporary standings with 39 points, and Persija Jakarta is in 3rd place in the temporary standings with 65 points.
