JAKARTA (JP): A sudden-death goal from Gendut Doni gave
Indonesian league runner-up Persija of Jakarta the championship
trophy at the Brunei League Invitational in Bandar Seri Begawan
at the expense of Bec-Tero Sasana of Thailand on Monday.
Trailing until 70 minutes into the game after a first-half

life with an equalizer.
Gendut slammed the winner in the 108th minute, to the cheers
of Indonesian supporters who packed the 65,000-seated Negara

(US$15,000) purse.
Persija coach Sofyan Hadi said there were some lapses in his
squad's defense in the first half, much was blamed on defender
and captain Nuralim. The coach then replaced Nuralim with Joko
