Persija Jakarta Embraces Jakmania Supporters Through Community-Based Financial Education
Jakarta — The spirit of football extends well beyond the stadium. This time, the camaraderie typically felt in the stands was brought to a different setting: a bank branch office. A number of Persija Jakarta players attended an event themed “From the Pitch to the Branch” alongside the Jakmania supporter community on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
The event, held at a Bank Jakarta branch office, served as a space for interaction between players and supporters, as well as a platform for education on financial literacy and inclusion. In addition to meet-and-greet sessions and photo opportunities, participants received presentations on banking services and digital transaction facilities.
The community-based approach was chosen as a means of reaching segments of society closely associated with football. Through a familiar and convivial atmosphere, financial education is expected to be more readily received, particularly by young people and supporter communities active in various social activities.
The event also introduced the use of cashless services such as debit cards, QRIS, and mobile banking, which were deemed relevant to the community’s daily needs. Persija players participated in conveying messages about the safe and practical use of financial services.
The collaboration with Persija and Jakmania is not the only step being taken. Previously, support for the sporting world was also demonstrated through a partnership with basketball club Pelita Jaya Jakarta. This cross-sport synergy is directed at broadening financial literacy within sporting communities and among the younger generation.
Going forward, similar programmes are planned to continue rolling out across various community touchpoints. Football and other sports are viewed as effective mediums for delivering educational messages, whilst simultaneously strengthening the role of communities in advancing inclusion and public economic welfare.
