Persija and Persebaya win in Bank Mandiri national league

JAKARTA (JP): Host Persija Jakarta defeated its guest PSDS Deli Serdang of North Sumatra 6-0 in the Bank Mandiri national league at Lebak Bulus stadium on Sunday.

In the one-sided match, Persija's striker Budi Sudarsono dominated the game by producing four goals in the 46th, 58th, 83rd and 88th minutes.

Fellow striker Gendut Doni Christiawan scored Persija's first goal in the 15th minute when the ball hit PSDS defender Erwin Sugianto's leg and entered the goal area.

In the second half, Persija was more aggressive. Budi managed to scored three goals in a row.

In the 74th minute, Budiman scored another goal before Budi sealed the victory in the 88th minute.

Referee Hudoyo gave Anda Auliya of Persija the red card in the 75th minute.

Three minutes later, Hudoyo was replaced by Alil Runenggo as Persija protested the referee's decision.

In Surabaya, host Persebaya also collected more points after it ousted Barito Putra Banjarmasin of South Kalimantan 3-1 at the 10 Nopember stadium.

Persebaya's striker Rahem produced goals in the 25th and 47th minute while another striker Sugiantoro successfully executed a penalty kick in the 77th minute. The penalty was awarded after Barito's stopper Sunar Sulaeman touched the ball in the penalty area.

Barito's players protested referee Made's decision.

"The referee was not fair. They shouldn't have been awarded a penalty kick because the ball touched Sunar's shoulder, not his hands," Barito's coach Mundari Karya complained as quoted by Antara news agency.

Barito's defender Zamen Pierre managed to narrow the score in the 70th minute, thanks to a feed from Baco Sadesaou.

Cheered by about 25,000 spectators, Persebaya put the pressure on Barito from the start of the match.

In Bontang, East Kalimantan, Putra Samarinda (Pusam) managed to grab a full point by defeating Persipura Jayapura 2-0.

Playing dully in the first half, Pusam's striker Delano Keter managed to score a goal in the 85th minute.

Three minutes later, Yance Katehokang scored another goal to seal Pusam's victory.

In Jepara, Central Java, host Persijap eliminated Gelora Dewata 1-0 thanks to M. Yusuf who scored the goal one minute after the match began.

In Sleman, Yogyakarta, the match between PSS Sleman and Arema Malang of East Java was halted for six minutes and had to be postponed to Monday as spectators ran to the field following chaos outside the Tridadi stadium.

Organizers were unable to control the situation when PSS soccer fans, were not allowed to enter the stadium, pelted stones to the Arema supporters in the stadium, leaving several Arema supporters injured.

The match will be moved to the stadium of the Airforce Academy in Yogyakarta without spectator. (44/yan)
