Persib bans Bobotoh from lighting flares and firecrackers at the final Super League clash with Persijap Jepara

The management of Persib Bandung has officially issued a stringent ban on the use of flares (cerawat) and explosive-like devices such as firecrackers during the season-ending match. The firm measure was taken to preempt disturbances to order and to ensure the safety of all those present within the stadium. This policy is applied ahead of a crucial match predicted to attract extraordinary enthusiasm from their loyal supporters. The security ban from Persib Bandung’s management targets the final match of the 2025-2026 Super League against Persijap Jepara. The decisive game is scheduled to take place at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on Saturday, 23 May 2026. Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, Adhitia Putra Herawan, urged supporters to exercise restraint and prioritise safety while inside the stadium. This strict regulation must be observed from the opening whistle until the trophy presentation is completed if the team wins the title. “We strongly forbid the use of flare, firecrackers, and the like, specifically during the match and up to the trophy presentation stage,” Adhitia said in Bandung, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, 20 May 2026. According to Adhitia, the thick smoke from flares and the bang of firecrackers not only threaten health but also spoil the visual aesthetics of the match on broadcast. “Therefore, it is very disruptive. The venue darkens, the smoke is everywhere, and it could be bad for broadcasting,” he said. The management understands that lighting flares has become part of the expressive culture of some Bobotoh groups. “Please do not do it until the trophy celebration is finished if Persib wins,” Adhitia said. “After that is finished, feel free to celebrate outside the stadium with a parade and all that,” he added.
