Persib Bandung Champions as Bobotoh Clean Kaliki Sports Stadium in Tasikmalaya
The Tasikmalaya Regency National Sports Committee (KONI), military, police, Banser, environmental groups, and Persib fans (Bobotoh) held a celebration for Persib Bandung’s three consecutive titles. The event involved community clean-up efforts at Kaliki People’s Sports Stadium (SOR) in Mangunreja District, Tasikmalaya, West Java.
Hundreds of military personnel, police, KONI members, Banser, students, residents, and Bobotoh from Tasikmalaya arrived with sickles, machetes, grass cutters, trash bags, and shovels to clear overgrown grass and weeds. The cleanup was a gesture of gratitude for Persib Bandung securing the BRI League 1 title for the third consecutive year.
Eri Purwanto, Chairman of the Tasikmalaya Regency National Sports Committee, said Persib fans across West Java are celebrating the team’s three-time consecutive victory, but in Tasikmalaya, the community chose to express their joy through a collective clean-up of the neglected SOR.
‘We want the Kaliki SOR in Mangunreja to be functional again. This isn’t just a clean-up; it’s a way to show gratitude for Persib Bandung’s three-time championship. We hope this fighting spirit inspires Tasikmalaya’s football team as they compete in the 2026 Provincial Games,’ said Eri Purwanto on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
According to Eri, the collaborative effort with military, police, Banser, students, environmental groups, residents, and Bobotoh marks the first step in revitalising the SOR as a sports training centre. The facility had been neglected for years, leaving local footballers struggling to find suitable training grounds.
‘Tasikmalaya Regency has qualified for the West Java Provincial Games (Porprov Jabar) in 2026 after a 33-year absence. The SOR’s condition should motivate other athletes to strive in the competition. We urge the local government to expedite construction, especially the stands, to make it fit for use,’ he added.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of Tasikmalaya Regency KONI, Nana Sumarna, said renovating the SOR is urgent ahead of the Porprov Jabar, as government facilities have long been neglected. However, the celebration of Persib’s victory in West Java, including Tasikmalaya, has taken the form of community enthusiasm.
‘Others may take to the streets for parades, but we chose to clean the SOR as a meaningful thanksgiving, benefiting both the community and athletes. This effort will keep the stadium tidy and prevent overgrown grass, while also holding prayers and cutting a tumpeng cake as a symbol of gratitude. We plan regular maintenance to avoid neglect,’ he concluded.
Last year, celebrations were concentrated around Gasibu, but this time, Bobotoh crowds filled nearly all parade routes from Gedung Sate to Pendopo.
Asia Afrika Street in Bandung was packed with hundreds of thousands of Bobotoh during the Mapag Persib Juara parade. Mayor Muhammad Farhan said Persib had made history in the Indonesian League.
