Perry Warjiyo, Governor of Bank Indonesia, Urged to Resign, Holds Rp52 Billion in Property Assets
Perry Warjiyo, the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), has recently been urged to resign from his post following the ongoing weakening of the rupiah against foreign currencies, especially the US dollar. Primus Yustisio, a member of the Indonesian Parliament’s XI Commission from the National Mandate Party (PAN), argued that stepping down could be a noble move for Perry if he is unable to carry out his duties effectively.
For reference, Perry Warjiyo has been the Governor of BI for the 2023-2028 period. This marks his second term after serving from 2018 to 2023. Before becoming BI Governor, from 2009 to 2013 he held roles including Assistant Governor for monetary policy, macroprudential and international affairs, and Executive Director of the Economic Research and Monetary Policy Department at Bank Indonesia.
The latest LHKPN (wealth report) for Perry was filed on 25 March 2026, updating his wealth up to the end of 2025. The total wealth reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) amounts to Rp 72.69 billion, with the majority coming from property assets valued at Rp 52.32 billion. He is recorded as owning numerous land and buildings spread across Jakarta, Karawang, South Tangerang, Sleman, and land in his hometown Sukoharjo.
Beyond property, Perry Warjiyo’s wealth includes vehicles valued at Rp 2.43 billion, other movable assets at Rp 1.03 billion, and other assets at Rp 1.91 billion. He also reported significant holdings in securities worth Rp 10.79 billion and cash or cash equivalents Rp 1.91 billion.
