Perplexity introduces medical Q&A feature based on Apple Health data
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perplexity AI has introduced the Perplexity Health feature, which can answer health-related questions based on data integrated from Apple Health.
According to a GSM Arena report on Saturday (21/3) local time, Perplexity Health is a feature specifically designed to enable artificial intelligence (AI) to provide evidence-based responses to medical questions.
One of the health services utilised by Perplexity is the Apple Health platform. Known as Perplexity Computer, this is the company’s AI agent tool, which can create fitness plans, personalised nutrition plans, and more.
The AI assistant will then track metrics and trends over time. With all this information, Perplexity Health is expected to deliver reliable and personalised health information to users.
Integration with other health services, including Oura and Function, is anticipated in the near future. However, for now, the feature only draws data from Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings.
This AI bot has been trained using electronic medical records from over 1.7 million healthcare providers, premium medical literature, clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed journals.
The company has also established the Perplexity Health Advisory Board, consisting of doctors, researchers, and health technology experts. They are responsible for overseeing Perplexity Health’s decisions, content quality, and ensuring adequate clinical safeguards.
