Perpetrator bought airsoft gun for Rp6.5 million to intimidate victim

The North Jakarta Metropolitan Police stated that the perpetrator, identified by the initials ADG (31), bought an airsoft gun for Rp6.5 million to intimidate the victim, identified as BD, and to damage the victim’s shop-house. “From the investigation results, the suspect admitted that the weapon secured by Cilincing Police officers is the same one recorded on CCTV,” said North Jakarta Police Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation AKP Bima Sakti in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, the weapon was used by the perpetrator to intimidate the shop-house security staff because the victim had allegedly committed verbal violence against the perpetrator’s girlfriend, identified as NZ. Bima stated that the perpetrator ADG had possessed the weapon since February 2026, purchased in the Kuningan area from someone claiming to be a member of the Indonesian Navy. “This weapon was bought by the perpetrator for Rp6.5 million,” he said. Previously, the North Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit stated that the motive of the armed man, ADG, who damaged a shop-house and the victim’s car in the Sukapura area, Cilincing, stemmed from resentment over alleged verbal violence committed by victim BD against his girlfriend (NZ) on 9 March 2026. “The perpetrator did not accept this and carried out the criminal act,” said Bima. “The victim BD’s estimated losses are around Rp15 million,” he added. He explained that on Wednesday (17/6) evening at 8.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, the perpetrator ADG visited the victim’s shop-house on Jalan Terusan Kelapa Hibrida, Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The perpetrator was known to have arrived with a woman, NZ, in a black Mercedes-Benz SLK 250. Upon arriving at the location, ADG was in a rage and carried out destruction and vandalism at the victim’s shop-house, including stomping on and smashing a neon box until it broke, kicking a gypsum wall until it was perforated, throwing chairs, and slamming a hand sanitiser bottle. The perpetrator’s actions were recorded by CCTV at BD’s shop-house, including ADG’s gesture of drawing a weapon from his waist and moving it from his right side to the back of his body while confronting the shop-house security officer. “The victim immediately filed a police report on Thursday (18/6) in the early hours regarding the destruction and vandalism of property,” said Bima. Then, on Thursday evening at 7.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, ADG returned to the location in an angry state and kicked the victim’s car parked in the shop-house yard, causing scratches.
