Perhutani KPH Kedu Utara Strengthens Coordination with Sindoro Via Sigedang Basecamp Management

Perum Perhutani Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan (KPH) Kedu Utara continues its commitment to improving service quality and safety on the Mount Sindoro hiking route. This step is being realised through strengthened coordination with the management of the Mount Sindoro Hiking Basecamp via Sigedang, Wonosobo Regency. This synergistic effort aims to ensure all special-interest tourism activities, particularly hiking, comply with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) while preserving the forest ecosystem in the area. KPH Kedu Utara Administratur Imas Idah Rosyanti stressed the importance of collaboration between policymakers and field managers. According to her, the basecamp serves as the front line in educating climbers before they undertake activities in the forest area. “This coordination is crucial to align perceptions in managing the hiking route. We want to ensure that climber safety is the top priority, without neglecting the protection of natural resources,” Imas Idah Rosyanti said in a statement. Beyond security aspects, the coordination meeting also discussed the mitigation of forest and land fire disasters as well as waste management along the hiking trail. Perhutani requested basecamp managers to be stricter in inspecting climbers’ belongings that could potentially ignite fires or pollute the environment. Meanwhile, a representative of the Sigedang Basecamp management welcomed the proactive step by Perhutani KPH Kedu Utara. They expressed readiness to continue synergising in maintaining order and cleanliness on the Sigedang hiking route, which is known for its beautiful tea plantation panorama. Through this strengthened coordination, it is hoped that tourist visits to Mount Sindoro can provide a positive economic impact for the surrounding community (LMDH) while upholding the principle of environmental sustainability. Perhutani also urged climbers to always comply with regulations, maintain their health, and refrain from actions that damage the forest ecosystem.
