Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The contribution of the ultramicro (UMi) holding is increasingly becoming a vital support for the performance of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, not only in terms of financing but also profitability and ecosystem expansion.

Deputy Director Viviana Dyah Ayu revealed that the existence of the UMi holding, consisting of PT Pegadaian and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), is driving integrated growth while maintaining financing quality.

“Overall, the ultramicro holding demonstrates synergy as part of the BRIVolution Reignite transformation, while also serving as a new source of growth,” she stated during the first-quarter 2026 performance presentation on Thursday (30/4/2026).

In terms of performance, the subsidiaries within the UMi holding recorded a significant surge in profitability. Pegadaian’s net profit grew by around 244.3% to Rp8.4 trillion, while PNM increased by 34.8% from Rp845 billion to Rp1.1 trillion in the first three months of this year.

Not only profits, but customer expansion and financing disbursements also showed impressive growth with maintained credit quality.

On a consolidated basis, the contribution of subsidiaries to BRI’s profit reached 28.49% by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Furthermore, the synergy within the UMi holding also strengthens BRI’s role as the engine of national financial inclusion. Up to the first quarter of 2026, BRI has disbursed Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) amounting to Rp47.09 trillion, with the agriculture sector dominating around 42%.

In addition, the company participates in financing approximately 3 million homes through subsidised credit disbursements, while expanding access to financing for low-income communities.

BRI is also actively involved in various grassroots economic empowerment programmes, including village cooperative development, non-cash social assistance, and strengthening the ultramicro ecosystem.

From a sustainability perspective, BRI continues to direct its portfolio towards financing with social and environmental impacts. Up to the first quarter of 2026, the portion of socially aware credit reached 53% of the total portfolio, while environmentally aware financing reached Rp96.6 trillion.
