Perempuan Bangsa Regional Boards Sign Integrity Pact to Secure PKB Victory
The Regional Executive Boards (DPW) of Perempuan Bangsa across Indonesia have signed a 17-point integrity pact to secure victory for the National Awakening Party (PKB) while striving to meet the 30 per cent female representation target in parliament in the upcoming general election. Chairwoman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of Perempuan Bangsa, Nihayatul Wafiroh, emphasised that the signing of the integrity pact demonstrates the PKB wing organisation’s seriousness in carrying out its political mandate. “The signing of this integrity pact is a manifestation of our seriousness to continue growing PKB, expanding the fighting space for female cadres, and ensuring that women’s politics is increasingly broad and accommodated in the policy-making process and parliamentary representation,” said the legislator, known as Ninik, in a confirmed statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. She further expressed gratitude that PKB Chairman Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar supports Perempuan Bangsa’s commitment to striving for 30 per cent female representation in parliament. “We are grateful that our chairman, Gus Muhaimin, fully supports the struggle to realise greater female representation in parliament. PKB is already very open, and of course, we must carry out that support as best we can,” she said. The 17 points of the Perempuan Bangsa integrity pact include: 1.
