Perempuan Bangsa Distributes Aid to the Poor and Elderly During Ramadhan Tali Asih Programme

Jakarta – The Chair of Perempuan Bangsa’s Central Board, Rustini Muhaimin Iskandar, organised the Tali Asih Ramadhan programme, distributing aid to several underprivileged individuals and elderly residents at the At Taubah Foundation in Karawang.

This initiative represents Perempuan Bangsa’s effort to promote compassion and strengthen social solidarity within society during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Rustini stated that Ramadhan represents an opportune moment to increase care for others, particularly those who require attention and assistance.

“Ramadhan teaches us not only to enhance personal worship, but also to expand social compassion. We want to ensure that the poor and elderly also experience joy and blessings in this holy month,” said Rustini on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

According to her, attention to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and low-income communities must be continuously strengthened, as they form an important part of the social fabric that should not be forgotten.

“Often we are preoccupied with our own affairs, yet around us there are still many who are in need. This gesture of kindness may not be substantial in value, but we hope it can serve as a sign of affection, showing them they are not alone,” she added.

Rustini also called upon all segments of society, particularly Indonesian women, to continue cultivating a spirit of sharing and mutual cooperation as a social force for the nation.

“Women possess great power in spreading empathy and compassion. Starting from the family, from our immediate surroundings, we can initiate small movements that bring goodness to many,” she said.

She hopes that such activities will strengthen values of togetherness whilst serving as a reminder that Ramadhan is not merely about fasting, but also about bringing love and meaningful benefit to others.

“We want this Ramadhan to be one filled with meaning. When we are able to share, however small, that is where blessings will come to us all,” Rustini concluded.
