Peradi Professional Appoints Megawati Prabowo as Deputy General Chairman
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) Professional has appointed Megawati Prabowo as Deputy General Chairman of the National Leadership Council (DPN) for the 2026-2031 period, during the inauguration of its executives in Jakarta on Friday (8/5).
General Chairman of DPN Peradi Professional, Harris Arthur Hedar, stated that Megawati’s selection is part of preparing regeneration for advocates and providing opportunities for young lawyers to participate in managing the advocates’ organisation in Indonesia.
“This step reflects Peradi Professional’s strong commitment to empowering young talent to hold strategic leadership roles in order to prepare cadres of organisational leaders for the organisation’s sustainability,” Arthur said at the inauguration event, as quoted from a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
He assessed that Megawati has the ability to strengthen the integrity of the profession while inspiring the younger generation of advocates.
In fact, he said, Megawati is capable of bringing positive change and fresh energy amid the increasingly dynamic challenges of the profession.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Chairman of DPN Peradi Professional, Megawati Prabowo, stated that a professional attitude, integrity, and adherence to the professional code of ethics must be instilled from an early stage in young advocates to achieve success.
“For me, this position demands great responsibility for the organisation. Therefore, I will channel it into various programmes related to the development of young advocates in Indonesia,” Megawati said on the same occasion.
Furthermore, Megawati hopes that the inauguration moment of Peradi Professional can bring a spirit of regeneration and high professionalism among advocates and strengthen the organisation’s position as a strategic partner in national legal development.
On the other hand, Peradi Professional’s mentor, Fauzie Hasibuan, added that the advocates’ organisation needs young figures who are not only intelligent but also of integrity to embrace all generations.
“Megawati has a vision and mission that aligns with Peradi Professional. Therefore, it is appropriate for her to handle young advocates,” Fauzie said.
He hopes that Megawati can lead young advocates, especially in providing legal services to the wider community.
In the future, Peradi Professional will strengthen the trust of those seeking justice in advocates.
He emphasised that the advocates’ organisation must be academically based, one of which relates to special professional education materials for advocates (PKPA) and the advocate professional examination (UPA).
“We will integrate Law No. 18/2003 on Advocates with Law No. 12/2012 on Higher Education, which will be adapted to technological developments,” he said.
