Peradi Profesional Partners with Unisba to Strengthen Advocate Education

The Indonesian Professional Advocates Association (Peradi Profesional) and the Islamic University of Bandung (Unisba) have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen the legal education ecosystem and the development of the advocate profession. The synergy was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Unisba and Peradi Profesional, followed by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Faculty of Law at Unisba and Peradi Profesional at the Unisba Rectorate Room in Bandung, West Java. The MoU was signed directly by Unisba Rector Harits Nu’man together with Peradi Profesional Chairman Harris Arthur Hedar. Meanwhile, the Cooperation Agreement document was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unisba, Efik Yusdiansyah, together with the Chairman of Peradi Profesional. The Cooperation Agreement focuses on the implementation of Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) and Advocate Professional Education (PPA), whilst also opening space for cooperation in education, research, community service, seminars, training, public lectures, scientific discussions, and various other academic activities. In his remarks, Harris Arthur Hedar emphasised that collaboration between advocate organisations and higher education institutions is a strategic step to build a legal education ecosystem that produces professional, high-integrity, ethical, and character-driven advocates. “Improving the quality of the advocate profession must start with quality legal education, an adaptive curriculum, and close synergy between academics and legal practitioners,” he said. On the same occasion, Unisba Rector Harits Nu’man expressed appreciation for the partnership and affirmed Unisba’s commitment to continuously strengthening collaboration with Peradi Profesional in improving the quality of higher education in the field of law. As a form of tangible commitment, Unisba is providing a dedicated activity space for Peradi Profesional on campus. This facility is prepared as a centre for organising PKPA, PPA, seminars, public lectures, scientific discussions, continuing education, and joint programme coordination. “The provision of these facilities reflects that this cooperation is realised through concrete steps that benefit students, lecturers, advocates, and the community,” he stressed. Through this partnership, both institutions agreed to develop various programmes supporting the Three Pillars of Higher Education, strengthen legal research, improve the quality of scientific publications, expand community service, and build academic forums responsive to national and international legal dynamics. This strategic partnership is expected to become a model of synergy between advocate organisations and higher education institutions in Indonesia in realising modern and quality legal education, whilst supporting the enforcement of the rule of law, legal certainty, and justice.
