Peradi Profesional Partners with 112 State and Private Universities Under Ministry of Religious Affairs Across Indonesia

The Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi Profesional) has set a record after becoming the first advocate organisation in Indonesia to sign a cooperation agreement with the Directorate General of Islamic Education, the University of Indonesia (UI), and 112 state and private universities under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) RI. The signing ceremony took place at the Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar and Chairman of Peradi Profesional, Harris Arthur Hedar. Minister Nasaruddin Umar welcomed the collaboration, stating that the agreement between the Directorate General of Islamic Education, UI, 112 universities under Kemenag, and Peradi Profesional is highly relevant to the current needs of the Indonesian nation. He explained that society is becoming increasingly complex, and legal issues no longer stand alone as mere regulatory texts but are intertwined with social, economic, cultural, and digital technology dynamics, as well as shifting power relations and evolving public understanding of religion and law. Therefore, he emphasised the necessity of a justice ecosystem. Nasaruddin assessed that collaboration and integration between law enforcers, the advocate profession, and universities are vital. He noted that the advocate profession holds a noble position because its duty is to defend rights and maintain balance in the judicial process. He expressed hope that Peradi Profesional will continue to strengthen the quality of professional services, ethics, competence, legal literacy, and continuing legal education for advocates, while also prioritising transparency and service quality as part of its contribution to Indonesia’s legal ecosystem. Chairman of Peradi Profesional, Harris Arthur Hedar, stressed that this collaboration is not merely a memorandum of understanding but an effort to build an integrated legal education ecosystem involving academics, the government, and professional organisations.
