PERADI Profesional Chairman's Hopes After Secretary General Appointed as Professor

Jakarta – The Chairman of the Indonesian Professional Advocates Association (PERADI PROFESIONAL), who is also the Chair of Jayabaya University Senate, Harris Arthur Hedar, directly led the open session for the appointment of Yuhelson as Professor in the field of bankruptcy law.

The appointment ceremony was held at the Prof. Dr. H. Moeslim Taher Auditorium, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.

In his statement, Harris conveyed congratulations and a sense of pride over Yuhelson’s achievement, who is currently also the Secretary General of PERADI PROFESIONAL.

According to him, Yuhelson is a figure who is both an academic and a legal practitioner with significant contributions to the development of legal science, particularly in the field of bankruptcy law.

“Prof. Yuhelson is our pride, and also the pride of PERADI PROFESIONAL. He is the only Secretary General in an advocates’ organisation who holds the title of professor in bankruptcy,” said Harris.

Furthermore, Harris emphasised that not many legal practitioners consistently and actively serve as academics in carrying out education, research, and continuous scientific publications. The combination of these roles is considered a unique strength in bridging legal theory and practice.

“Through various academic activities undertaken, Prof. Yuhelson has contributed to developing economic legal studies with a focus on the dynamics of the relationship between debtors and creditors in the modern legal system,” he said.

Harris hopes that Yuhelson’s achievement will inspire PERADI PROFESIONAL members and other legal professionals to continue contributing to the development of scientific knowledge and legal practice in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Fauzie Yusuf Hasibuan, Rector of Jayabaya University, expressed pride in the process and efforts to gain recognition and appointment from the state through a rigorous natural selection, which Yuhelson has successfully achieved.

“Hopefully, the knowledge gained can be applied to the entire society, especially as a professor at Jayabaya University, he has academic obligations, namely how to nurture the levels below him to catch up on the backlog,” said Fauzie.

Meanwhile, Abdul Latif, Chairman of the Expert Council of PERADI PROFESIONAL, emphasised that in the current rapidly developing context, there is indeed a need for a new legal order to provide solutions to every legal problem faced in the business world.
