The Special Advocate Profession Education (PKPA) held by Peradi Profesional in collaboration with the University of Indonesia (UI) has achieved a Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI) record for the largest number of participants. A total of 585 participants attended from the 6/00 prospective advocates who registered for the event held at the UI Salemba Campus, Jakarta, on Saturday (3/10/2026).

The General Chairman of DPN Peradi Profesional, Harris Arthur Hedar, stated that the high number of participants demonstrates significant interest in advocate profession education. According to Harris, this high volume of participants must be accompanied by educational quality that emphasises competence, ethics, and character.

“Peradi Profesional carries a firm commitment to being high-quality, ethical, and characterised. These values are the direction of the advocate profession education that we are building,” said Harris.

Harris noted that advocate profession education is not sufficient if it only provides legal theory to participants. PKPA must also shape prospective advocates who possess integrity, understand the code of ethics, are capable of critical thinking, and have the ability to face legal issues in practice.

“Advocates are an officium nobile, a noble and honourable profession. Their nobility is not determined by titles or attributes, but by competence, integrity, and responsibility in defending rights and maintaining a fair legal process,” Harris explained.

The collaboration with UI also marks the beginning of expanding professional education alongside universities in various regions of Indonesia. Peradi Profesional is currently exploring partnerships with several campuses so that advocate profession education can reach more areas.

“In the future, and currently ongoing, Peradi Profesional continues to expand PKPA and is also establishing collaborations with several campuses to conduct advocate profession education programmes with universities across various regions of Indonesia, so that access to high-quality professional education becomes wider and the quality standards for advocates become stronger,” said Harris.

The Rector of UI, Heri Hermansyah, stated that the implementation of PKPA is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding between UI and Peradi Profesional. This collaboration is expected to support participants through the professional education process until they enter the legal workforce.

“After this education, we certainly hope that the participants attending the PKPA with UI and Peradi Profesional can proceed smoothly until they are sworn in, and subsequently become graduates who fill various legal professions, lawyer professions, or related roles,” said Heri.

The Vice General Chairman of DPN Peradi Profesional for PKPA, Advocate Profession Education (PPA), and Cooperation, Shalih Mangara Sitompul, noted that the record-breaking number of participants is a significant milestone for this session. However, according to Shalih, professional education should not merely serve as an administrative requirement for the legal profession.

“PERADI Profesional views that today’s PKPA, the special education for the advocate profession, is not just an administrative stage towards becoming an advocate. Rather, it is a process of character building, integrity, and moral responsibility,” said Shalih.

The implementation of PKPA with UI is one of the steps taken by Peradi Profesional to expand partnerships with universities in the education of prospective advocates. In addition to increasing access to professional education, this collaboration aims to maintain the standards of competence, ethics, and integrity for future advocates.
