Peradi East Jakarta's Social Action Reaches Road Users in Pulo Mas

Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia (Peradi) Jakarta Timur Branch continued its social outreach in the holy month of Ramadan. Although East Jakarta was heavily rain-soaked, dozens of Peradi Jaktim branch officials remained enthusiastic as they went out onto the streets to distribute takjil packages to the public and to road users. The sympathetic action focused in front of the DPC Peradi Jakarta Timur Secretariat, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulo Mas, East Jakarta. Led directly by the head of the East Jakarta DPC, Johannes Oberlin L Tobing, the activity targeted riders and workers on their way home ahead of the breaking of the fast. Johannes explained that the activity is not merely a routine, but part of the spiritual programme to strengthen ties among legal practitioners and the wider community. ‘DPC Peradi Jakarta Timur hopes the fasting goes smoothly and that worshippers receive reward and blessings in the holy month of Ramadan,’ Johannes said during the takjil distribution on Friday (6/3). Even though the weather was unfavourable due to rain, the zeal of the officials did not wane. This was done to ensure that people still on the streets could break their fast on time. Observations at the site showed high enthusiasm from people from various walks of life. From online motorcycle taxi drivers to minibus drivers to private sector employees, all queued politely. Interestingly, the takjil menu this time consisted of Hokben meal packs, adding appeal for passing residents. The distribution of takjil is a tangible expression of DPC Peradi Jakarta Timur’s commitment to social engagement and spreading goodness during the holy month. Through this act, Peradi aims to be present not only in legal advocacy but also in humanitarian actions that directly meet community needs.
