JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has implemented several acceleration strategies for the People’s School project in North Maluku Province amid challenging weather conditions, including heavy rainfall during construction.

To maintain progress according to schedule, the company has optimised working hours during favourable weather conditions.

Additional acceleration measures have been integrated on-site, including increased construction equipment, strengthened material production capacity, and adjusted work methods to ensure effective project rhythm.

These steps are taken to ensure project execution remains measured and aligned with safety and construction quality standards.

During construction, Hutama Karya has engaged over 700 local workers from Kao, Tidore, Ternate, Ambon, and Tobelo.

Local workforce involvement is part of the company’s effort to ensure the project directly benefits surrounding communities.

The project’s presence has also boosted local economic activity, with businesses such as catering services for workers, eateries, and residential rentals experiencing growth during construction.

Acting Executive Vice President and Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, stated that the North Maluku People’s School project is expected not only to provide quality education facilities but also deliver social and economic impacts for the community.

“Through the construction of the People’s School in North Maluku, Hutama Karya aims to ensure the project directly benefits local communities, including local workforce participation and economic growth in the project area,” Hamdani said on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

“We hope this development not only delivers quality education facilities but also adds value to the community during the construction process,” he added.

Hutama Karya has ensured all work is conducted in line with quality and safety standards through comprehensive implementation of Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (QHSSE) protocols across the project site.

Going forward, Hutama Karya has stated it will continue supporting inclusive national education infrastructure development with wide-reaching community benefits as part of efforts to promote balanced development and improve Indonesia’s human resource quality.
