People's Movement Party Registers with Law Ministry, Endorses Anies as 2029 Presidential Candidate
The People’s Movement Party (PGR) officially submitted its registration documents as a political party to the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) on Thursday (23/7/2026). This step was taken after the party, which uses a bamboo slit drum as its symbol, completed administrative verification in all 38 provinces across Indonesia.
Chairman of the People’s Movement Party, Sahrin Hamid, said this achievement was the result of a long struggle by all administrators in various regions. Consequently, the People’s Movement Party was able to complete the Registered Certificate (SKT) from 38 provinces in Indonesia on Wednesday (22/7/2026).
"38 Registered Certificates from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island, we have perfected this endeavour for a better Indonesia," he said in a statement on Thursday (23/7/2026).
Sahrin emphasised that the People’s Movement Party grew purely from the grassroots, not formed by any particular political elite. Therefore, he assured that his party would fight for all Indonesian people.
Nevertheless, he considered that the registration at the Ministry of Law was still the beginning of the struggle. There are still other stages that must be completed so that the People’s Movement Party can participate in the 2029 General Election (Pemilu).
