People's demands
People's demands
From Merdeka
Going back in history, 32 years ago the Indonesian Communist
Party (PKI) was blamed for setting off a chain of events, which
ultimately was to bring the Indonesian nation to its knees. Then,
the New Order emerged. People said there would be new
arrangements, new moral values, a new spirit, and many other new
things.
Now, after 30 years, the little people are asked to tighten
their belts and live a simple and frugal life.
If the former cause of the nation's regression was the PKI,
the cause of the present quandary can, in my opinion, be
attributed to nepotism and cronyism, which are indicative of
moral decadence in the government. Such practice has given rise
to social inequality and moral degeneration, and is clearly
contrary to the Constitution and the Pancasila ideology.
There are many aspects of government that need change.
