People's Command Alliance Holds Rally at DPR, Calls for National Unity
The People’s Command Alliance for Unity staged a rally in front of the DPR building in Senayan, Central Jakarta. They stated their rejection of provocation attempts and negative narratives about Indonesia.
“So we from the People’s Command for Unity, today we are consolidating ourselves from various elements, OKP members and campus networks, joining together to voice matters related to the issues that are currently occurring. Namely information related to provocative narratives, narratives with poor diction against our nation and state, the people throughout Indonesia, especially from Sabang to Merauke,” said rally spokesperson Khairul, met at the rally site on Monday (24/8/2026).
Khairul emphasised that his side supports the aspirations voiced by the public, such as the issue of corruption. However, they reject any attempts to cause unrest in Indonesia.
“Regarding the issue of corruption, we support it. But attempts to ‘Nepalise’ our nation and state, this is what we collectively despise. So that is why we are here today,” he said.
The People’s Command for Unity also rejects provocation attempts on social media. They then campaigned to maintain Indonesian unity.
“Our next note is that whatever provocation attempts and negative narratives that are currently surfacing on various media platforms, we continue to campaign to stop such provocations, to safeguard the unity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia properly and wholly,” he explained.
As for the planned rally on 27 August 2026 by various parties, Khairul reminded participants to maintain the conduciveness of Jakarta. He stated that expressing opinions is the right of every individual.
“The principle is this: we remind each other. Whatever the story, all members of society, whether individuals or groups, have their own rights, right, to express their opinions. At the very least, they should understand how expressing opinions can be done through channels that are not provocative or negative in nature, and so on,” he added.
