State-owned banknote printer Peruri, in collaboration with the Kreasi Tuli Indonesia (KTI) Foundation, held a screen-printing training session for people with disabilities at the Karawang State-Owned Enterprises House on Tuesday (2/6). The activity aims to improve the skills and economic independence of people with disabilities.

The training, attended by participants from various areas in Karawang Regency, provided fundamental screen-printing skills. These abilities are expected to open up independent business opportunities and enhance participants’ competitiveness in the workforce.

Peruri’s Head of Corporate Secretary, Adi Sunardi, stated that the programme is part of the company’s commitment, through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, to create a skilled and competitive society. “Through this training, we hope participants will not only gain applicable technical skills but also an increase in self-confidence. This is part of our commitment to promoting equal opportunities so that our friends with disabilities can continue to work and make a real contribution to economic activities,” Adi said in a written statement.

According to Adi, the training also serves as evidence that Peruri remains committed to community empowerment amidst the company’s transformation into a high-security technology company. The programme simultaneously supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly regarding the provision of decent work and the reduction of inequalities.

KTI Foundation Founder Inaraya said screen-printing skills were chosen because they are easy to learn and offer substantial business opportunities. “Many people with disabilities with high potential and enthusiasm have not yet received access to appropriate training. These screen-printing skills can be highly relevant provisions for them, both for starting a business or working in the printing sector,” said Inaraya.

She expressed hope that the collaboration between Peruri and the KTI Foundation can continue to create a more inclusive ecosystem for people with disabilities. Through this programme, both parties are targeting the creation of broader economic opportunities for people with disabilities while promoting sustainable economic independence.
