People struggle for fresh water

SEMARANG, Central Java: The prolonged drought affecting the
province has forced people in many areas of the region to walk
for many kilometers to obtain fresh water.

Among the areas suffering the most are Kaliori, Sulang, Sumber
and Pancur, where the locals must find other water sources
because their wells have gone dry.

"It's difficult to find water. Many wells have stopped
producing water and there is no pipe water," said Hartono, a
