Pentagon releases second wave of UFO files
Los Angeles – The Pentagon, on Friday 22 May local time, released the second wave of files on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), or what is more commonly known as unidentified flying objects (UFOs). The newly released files include 222 documents, photographs, videos and eyewitness historical reports, including notes from historical investigations, as well as images and reports gathered by the United States military and government agencies in recent years relating to UFOs observed across the air, space, land and maritime domains. The data set remains housed on a dedicated government website, with additional files to be released gradually, according to the Pentagon. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said on Monday 18 May that the website has received more than one billion visits since it was launched on 8 May, highlighting the high public interest in the topic. He said the Pentagon, together with its partner agencies, is actively preparing the release of a third batch of UFO files. The first wave of UFO files released by the Pentagon consisted of 161 files.
