Penjaringan Police Hold 'Sabuk Kamtibmas' Initiative, Partnering with 70 Community Members

Maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas) is not solely the responsibility of the police. This spirit was demonstrated by the Penjaringan Metro Police Sector by engaging various elements of society through the ‘Sabuk Kamtibmas’ activity held at the Penjaringan Metro Police Sector courtyard, North Jakarta.

This activity is part of the ‘Jaga Jakarta’ (Protect Jakarta) programme, specifically through the spirit of ‘Jaga Lingkungan’ (Protect the Environment) and ‘Jaga Aturan’ (Observe the Rules).

A total of 70 individuals from various communities participated, consisting of 15 members of Pokdarkamtibmas, 18 members of the Forum Betawi Rempug (FBR), 17 members of BPPKB Banten, and 20 online motorcycle taxi drivers.

“Thank you to all the colleagues who attended. Environmental security requires our collective care and role. Let us keep Penjaringan safe and comfortable so that the community can carry out their activities well,” the Chief of Penjaring Metro Police, AKBP Agta Bhuwana Putra, told reporters on Saturday, 29 August 2026.

He expressed hope that similar activities could serve as a platform to strengthen the partnership between the police and the community, while simultaneously increasing citizens’ awareness regarding the importance of maintaining security in their respective environments.

In addition to discussions regarding security and order, the Sabuk Kamtibmas activity also included social actions. Participants received five-kilogram bags of rice, while motorcyclists were provided with free oil change services.

Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, stated that the spirit of ‘Jaga Jakarta’ requires the involvement of all elements of society. He noted that the public plays a vital role in creating a safe and comfortable environment, particularly by building awareness and maintaining communication with police authorities.

“Jaga Jakarta is a shared spirit. The community can take a role starting from their closest environment, by caring for one another, maintaining order, and respecting the rules. When this communication and care grow, we together create a safe and comfortable space for all members of the community,” he said.
