PENEMU Volunteers Boost Teacher Competency in Digital Technology Mastery
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Pejuang Negeri Maju (PENEMU) volunteers are driving the improvement of teacher competency through training in digital technology mastery to support classroom learning.
This initiative was realised through training sessions with teachers in South Jakarta under the theme “Enhancing Digital Technology Competency for GTK (Teachers and Education Personnel) for Classroom Learning,” held at the Balai Guru dan Tenlam Kependidikan (BGTK) Jakarta, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
“Teachers need to be provided with space to improve their competence so that the use of technology can be applied relevantly in the classroom,” said PENEMU Secretary-General Randy Dwi Bastian in Jakarta on Friday.
Randy stated that increasing digital technology skills is a vital part of addressing current learning needs. The training is also part of a collaboration between Kejar Cita and the Ministry of Education.
The use of technology and innovation is expected to strengthen the learning process while building an adaptive educational ecosystem. Furthermore, the training is intended to help teachers face the continuously evolving needs of education.
With improved digital technology competence, teachers are expected to be able to optimise various innovations to support classroom learning. “The collaboration is directed towards supporting the improvement of learning quality through the use of technology and innovation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of PENEMU, Sinda Sutadisastra, noted that collaboration between various parties is necessary to build a sustainable educational ecosystem. The activity also serves as a form of support for the Asta Cita programme.
“Kejar Cita is committed to helping provide education that is inclusive, equitable, and relevant to the needs of the era,” said Sinda Sutadisastra.
The teacher training in South Jakarta is also a form of participation in the Gerakan Partisipasi Semesta Pendidikan Bermutu (PSPB) or the Universal Participation Movement for Quality Education. PSPB serves as a national collaborative platform that opens space for various parties to participate in improving the quality of Indonesian education.
Parties that can be involved include the business world, industry, philanthropy, community organisations, educational institutions, media, and development partners. This collaboration is directed so that the contributions of various parties can be carried out in a more targeted, transparent, and impactful manner.
Through this activity, Sinda Sutadisastra continued, PENEMU along with Kejar Cita also supports the Ministry of Education in improving the quality of learning.
The training was conducted in the Pasar Baru area, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, with the theme “Enhancing Digital Technology Competency for GTK for Classroom Learning.” A total of 150 teachers from 150 schools in South Jakarta participated in the event, consisting of 75 primary school (SD) teachers and 75 junior high school (SMP) teachers.
