The committee for the 17th National Farmers and Fishermen’s Week (PENAS) has prepared an internet facility with a capacity of 800 Mbps at the Media Centre to support hundreds of journalists and public relations officers covering the national agenda in Gorontalo Province. Head of the Gorontalo Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency Mohamad Trizal Entengo in Gorontalo Regency stated on Friday that the construction of the Media Centre, located in the David-Tony Sports Complex, has reached approximately 80 percent completion. “The main facility we have prepared is internet support with a capacity of 800 Mbps, consisting of 500 Mbps from Icon Plus and 300 Mbps from IndiHome. Additionally, five WiFi points will be installed to support reporting activities,” said Trizal. He explained that the Media Centre is equipped with 18 work desks for journalists, computer devices, a press conference room, and a podcast corner that can be utilised for content production and live broadcasts during PENAS XVII. According to Trizal, the facility was prepared to ensure the smooth distribution of information and publication of activities that will be attended by thousands of participants from across Indonesia. Meanwhile, Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail, who inspected the readiness of the Media Centre, requested that all work be completed within the next few days so the facility is ready for use before the opening of PENAS XVII. He assessed that the existence of the Media Centre is an important part of supporting the dissemination of information about various innovations and programmes showcased at the national farmers and fishermen’s event. PENAS XVII is scheduled to take place in Gorontalo Province from 20 to 27 June 2026 and will serve as a meeting forum for farmers, fishermen, extension workers, business actors, and stakeholders in the agriculture and fisheries sectors from various regions in Indonesia.
