Penajam Regency Included in National Strategic Area Development Zone by PPN/Bappenas
Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, has been included in the National Strategic Area (KSN) development zone by the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) to support the Nusantara Capital (IKN).
“The KSN is part of the three-city development concept,” said Assistant II for Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat of the Penajam Paser Utara Regency Government, Hadi Saputro, in Penajam on Tuesday.
The KSN development carried out by the Ministry of Bappenas in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will serve as the main support for Indonesia’s new capital.
The three-city development includes Balikpapan City, IKN, and Samarinda City, he explained, and Penajam Paser Utara Regency is also included as a KSN as the originating and nearest area to Indonesia’s new capital.
The regency government has proposed six sectors as pilots in the KSN development planning, including marine, fisheries, and tourism.
Then sustainable food crops, palm oil downstreaming, human resource development (HRD), as well as infrastructure and transportation.
JICA, he said, has held meetings with the Penajam Paser Utara Regency Government and conducted data collection for the three-city development planning related to KSN development.
Subsequently, studies will be conducted on the six proposed sectors for KSN development in Penajam Paser Utara Regency to determine which sectors are more feasible to develop in the regency.
“The Ministry of PPN/Bappenas has included Penajam Paser Utara Regency in the three-city development planning so that the regency becomes a supporter along with the development of IKN,” said Hadi Saputro.
