Penajam District Transfers Sepaku Roads to IKN Authority
Penajam Paser Utara district government in East Kalimantan province has proposed the transfer of district road infrastructure in Sepaku subdistrict, which falls within the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) area, to the IKN Authority to enable more optimal handling and improvement of the roads.
“Several road sections in the Sepaku area require special attention for immediate repairs,” said Muhajir, head of the regional Finance and Asset Board (BKAD), when asked about road assets in Sepaku subdistrict within the IKN area in Penajam on Friday.
The road infrastructure in Sepaku subdistrict within the IKN area, he continued, is being proposed for transfer to the IKN Authority so that it receives special attention from the relevant institution.
The transfer of road infrastructure by Penajam Paser Utara district government to the IKN Authority is intended to accelerate the improvement of road infrastructure quality in Sepaku subdistrict in line with IKN development.
“Currently, we are awaiting further discussions between the district government and the IKN Authority to finalise the transfer process,” he added.
According to BKAD records of Penajam Paser Utara district, the breakdown of road conditions in Sepaku subdistrict to be transferred to the IKN Authority includes 62.9 kilometres of road in good condition and 9.6 kilometres in fair condition.
“Furthermore, 2.9 kilometres are in minor damage condition, and 92.88 kilometres of road are in severe damage condition,” he explained.
