The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Pemuda Pancasila (PP) general chairman Japto Soerjosoemarno (JP) on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, in connection with a graft allegation that previously involved former East Kutai regent Rita Widyasari. Japto’s status in the questioning was that of a witness.

The KPK stated that the questioning of Japto was necessary following the designation of three coal companies as new suspects, which resulted from the KPK’s case development.

“Today, investigators scheduled the questioning of witness JP in the alleged graft corruption case in the East Kutai regency area, with corporate suspects,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Japto attended the questioning at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta. The KPK has kept confidential the specific matters it intended to examine regarding Japto.

It is known that Japto, the head of PP East Kalimantan Said Amin, and PP Deputy General Chairman Ahmad Ali were previously questioned by the KPK as witnesses in the case against Rita last year. That questioning allegedly concerned the flow of illegal funds to PP officials.

Previously, the KPK designated three corporations as suspects in accordance with the case development in the alleged corruption offence involving gratification per metric ton of coal production in the East Kutai regency area, East Kalimantan.
