Pemalang Regent's Wife Also Detained by KPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained a number of individuals, including the wife of Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro, following a sting operation. Noor Faizah Maenofie was seen being escorted out of an examination room at the Pemalang Police Station on Wednesday, walking towards a mosque within the complex before returning to the examination room. She was wearing a cream-coloured vest similar to the one she had on when she was picked up by KPK officers from her official residence earlier that morning. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the operation resulted in the detention of 21 individuals, with five detained in Jakarta, 15 in Pemalang, and one in Purworejo. The Regent of Pemalang is among those being intensively examined at the KPK’s Red and White building in Jakarta. All detained parties currently hold the status of examinees, and the KPK has 24 hours to determine their legal status.
