Pemalang Regent's Wife Also Arrested in KPK Sting Operation

The wife of Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro, Noor Faizah Maenofie (NFM), was also taken into custody during a KPK sting operation.

NFM was taken to the Pemalang Police headquarters along with a number of other people caught in the operation.

Quoted by detikJateng, Noor Faizah was seen leaving an interrogation room at the Pemalang Police headquarters on Wednesday (29/7). She was seen walking towards the mosque located within the police complex.

An officer accompanied the wife of Anom. Noor was seen wearing a cream-coloured vest, as she had when the KPK picked her up from her official residence in the early hours of the morning. She then walked back to the interrogation room.

As background, Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro was caught in the KPK sting operation. Besides the regent, 20 other people were detained by the KPK.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said five people were detained in Jakarta, 15 in Pemalang, and one in Purworejo.

“The five people detained in Jakarta are currently undergoing intensive questioning at the KPK’s Merah Putih building, one of whom is the Pemalang Regent,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo.

Those caught in the operation still hold the status of examinees. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those involved.
