Pemalang Regent Caught in Sting Operation in Jakarta, Undergoes Intensive Questioning at KPK

The KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro. Anom was secured in Jakarta and is currently being questioned at the KPK building.

“One of the individuals secured in Jakarta is the Regent of Pemalang, who arrived last night at the KPK’s Merah Putih building,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

Anom and four other people were secured by the KPK in Jakarta last night. All five are now undergoing questioning at the KPK.

“The five people secured in Jakarta are currently being questioned at the KPK’s Merah Putih building,” he said.

In addition to Jakarta, the KPK secured a number of individuals in Pemalang and Purworejo in connection with the sting operation against Regent Anom. A total of 21 people were secured.

“In the course of the sting operation, the team secured a total of 21 people,” he stated.

The KPK also seized evidence in the form of cash amounting to Rp 2 billion. However, the identities of those secured, apart from Anom, have not yet been disclosed.

Those secured currently hold the status of examinees. The KPK has 24 hours to announce the legal status of the individuals caught in the sting operation.
