Pemalang-Pekalongan Road Guaranteed Smooth During Eid Holiday Exodus
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is accelerating preservation work on the Pemalang-Pekalongan National Road section to ensure road conditions are stable, safe, and comfortable for the public ahead of the Eid 2026 exodus period.
Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasised that this section is an important part of the strategic North Coast corridor (Pantura) with high vehicle mobility and must therefore be ensured ready before the peak of the exodus.
The Head of the Central Java-DIY National Road Implementation Office, Moch Iqbal Tamher, reported that the physical progress of work to date has reached 78.89 per cent, exceeding the planned target of 37.66 per cent.

The handling method is conducted through two types of work. The first type is carried out without demolition of existing pavement, with the addition of new construction in the form of AC-BC with a minimum thickness of 3 cm and concrete with fs’45 strength of 31 cm thickness with a curing time of 3-7 days.
Meanwhile, the second type is conducted through demolition of existing pavement, followed by Class A aggregate work of 20 cm thickness, lean concrete of 10 cm thickness, and fs’45 concrete of 31 cm thickness with a curing period of 3-7 days to strengthen the overall road structure.
Through this preservation work, the Ministry of Public Works ensures inter-regional connectivity in Central Java remains maintained and supports the smooth flow of the exodus along the strategic Pantura corridor in Java.
